Savoring Chilled Fruit in Silverware
The other day, I visited T9 Cafe in Tajimi with a friend who came to visit from Tokyo. Whenever she visits Gifu, it's become our tradition to explore various cafes! This particular cafe is popular for its kakigori (shaved ice) generously topped with seasonal fruits.
We ordered the "Fresh Strawberry Kakigori."
It was visually stunning, with vibrant red strawberries, a generous dollop of yogurt cream, and even a scoop of vanilla ice cream! What was most striking, however, was the presence of the silver bowl! It felt refreshingly cool to the touch, making the entire "experience" of eating – not just the sight – feel incredibly special right up to the moment it reached my mouth.
They also serve lunch, and we had the "Honey Mustard Chicken." This was also very satisfying!
I'm looking forward to visiting again when the season changes to try new menu items.
The last time I visited, I also tried their pineapple and peach kakigori, so I've included those photos here too.
🍍 Pineapple Kakigori
Delicious with juicy fruitiness and a refreshing sweetness! It felt like discovering an early summer inside the bowl.
🍑 Peach Kakigori
The gentle sweetness of the fruit was concentrated, pairing perfectly with the refreshing yogurt cream!
