Enjoy Chilled Soup in Mino-ware Bowls

Hello, this is Eri.

June is supposed to be the rainy season, but here in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, it already feels like midsummer! The sun is strong, and I find myself reaching for something cold more and more.

On days like that, a perfect lunch is chilled soup. Today, I made it using potatoes.

The flavor is gently sweet, and the silky texture spreads across your palate in a comforting way—soothing even a weary heart on a hot day.

This time, I served the soup in small Mino-ware bowls.

The white bowl has a slightly rough matte texture that feels nice in your hand.

The black bowl has a dignified presence and makes the pale color of the soup stand out.

Changing the bowl alone can change the mood of the same dish so profoundly. The visual beauty becomes part of the food itself.
